		<Abstract> 
&lt;span style=&quot;font-size: xx-small;&quot;&gt;In this paper the synthesis of some new polyaromatic monocyclic β-lactams has been reported. These cycloadducts have been synthesized by the [2+2] ketene-imine cycloaddition reaction known as the Staudinger reaction.
