Abstract

This work reports the preparation of the mononuclear derivative [Pd(C6H4CH2NH2) L](ClO4) (L= dppp). The centrosymmetric mononuclear palladium complexe, was obtained by the reaction of palladium(II) acetate with benzylamine in toluene produced the acetate cyclopalladated dimer of benzylamine. Metathesis reaction of these acetate-bridged cyclopalladated complex with NaCl inwater and acetone gave N,C-orthopalladated [Pd(C6H4CH2NH2)(µ-Cl)]2 complex, which reacts with, NaClO4/dppp, to give the mononuclear derivative. The orthopalladation complexe were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques such as elemental analysis, IR, 1H, 31P, and 13C NMR. The structures of N,C-metalated complexe 3 and were determined by X-ray diffraction study.
